How did Big Brother become a ratings flop? On Friday, the show had the worst audience for an eviction in seven years. It was not just bolshy Belinda Harris-Reid who left the programme, but swathes of viewers too. The Channel 4 show picked up just 2.4million viewers — the lowest figure since the second series back in 2001. Take That are experimenting on the follow-up to their humungous Beautiful World album but vow to remain loyal to their pop roots. Lee Ryan has issued a statement folllowing reports in press re his 'broken relationship he has stated will be seeking legal action, and too right too! See forum for full details. Other news includes Robbie Williams has had to pull out of Soccer Aid 2008, at Wembley Stadium on 7 September. A new team captain as yet to be announced. Simple Plan will return to the UK in November for a three date trek. Full details on the forum Lee Ryan will make his stage acting debut in The Pretender Agenda, a new play which will run for five weeks from 28 August - 27 September 2008. Mcfly’s Tom Fletcher has been living up to his band's name by taking private flying lessons. As a band McFly decided to leave their record company after they were advised to start releasing chill-out music. Popular pop band McFly are to visit Truro as part of a mini-tour to promote their single. The visit to the Truro HMV store on Friday, July 18 will wrap up their mini in-store tour that also includes Glasgow, Edinburgh and Birmingham. Blue will not be reforming, contrary to reports from tabloids and hopes of the group's fans. BOYZONE member Shane Lynch has pulled out of this year's Southport Theatre panto for “personal reasons”. Simon has announced a gig in Nantwich on the 3rd August. Richard Fleeshman is set to perform songs from his album at Cabaret Voltaire on Tuesday. British pop punk band McFly is doing just as Prince did by teaming up with UK’s Daily Mail to give away its new music in the paper’s July 20th edition. IRISH crooners Westlife wowed the adoring crowds last night at the launch of the 2008 Summer Pops. Pop-rockers McFly have just announced details of a new UK arena tour for later this year. Tickets for the new shows will go on sale at 11:00am on Sunday 20th July. Due to overwhelming demand, a second show at the Mohegan Sun has been added to Michael's tour dates on December 3. Michael will now perform on both December 2 and 3. Tickets for Michael's encore performance at Mohegan Sun and all other dates are on sale from Ticketmaster Briefly allies during the ‘blind leading the blind’ task, Jennifer Clark and Rex Newmark will return to being rivals now that their Big Brother housemates have nominated them for eviction. The Jolie-Pitt Foundation has announced $1 million in donations for children impacted by the Iraq crisis, including $200,000 to support International Rescue Committee education programs for children living in volatile areas of southern Iraq. “This generous donation will help restore vital education services for Iraqi children whose schooling was disrupted by ongoing violence,” said George Rupp, president of the IRC. “Once again, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are showing their commitment to aid innocent and ordinary people whose lives have been turned upside down by conflict,” Rupp said. “We hope their dedication will inspire others to help Iraqi families in need." Having a fan base that follows your every move is one thing — but using that fan base to help out others is inspiring. In the case of actor Wentworth Miller, a worldwide charity fundraising event is underway as a “way for Wentworth’s fans to show their appreciation and support for their favorite actor.” All of the money raised will go towards UNICEF. Said Miller of the project, “It’s my privilege to be a part of the entertainment business, an industry that has reached out to and touched the lives of billions of people around the world. It gives me tremendous pleasure to think that many of those same people have been motivated to reach out to others in turn. This charitable effort was conceived, organized and executed by a group of generous fans willing to donate their time and energies to a worthy cause. I’m honored to participate in this process, and I thank you for doing the same.” MCFLY are to make a reappearance at Leeds's biggest free concert, Party in the Park, on Sunday, July 27 at Temple Newsam. This will be the band's third performance at the event and each time they have been a huge hit with the crowd. McFly have also previously switched on Leeds Christmas lights. They are expected to perform songs from their new album, Radioactive, released July 21, as well as some old favourites. Wembley Arena was the location for my friend Michelle and I to go back to our 20s - Boyzone‘s "comeback" we had been eagerly anticipating for the past couple of years was about to happen. To say we were excited was an understatement! And we were not disappointed when, after a space shuttle-style countdown, Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Stephen Gately, Keith Duffy and Mikey Graham - arrived on stage at the top of a staircase in tight silver trousers and skimpy T-shirts. They opened the concert with Picture of You - which was first released almost 11 years ago. They went on to perform many of their old favourites, including Words, Cat Stevens' Father and Son and their first UK single, The Osmonds' Love Me For A Reason. I must admit, although thrilled that Boyzone are back, my favourite is still Ronan, pictured. After their split in 2000, I followed him through his solo career. I was, therefore, delighted to hear him perform his solo hits When You Say Nothing At All and Rollercoaster. Our temperatures were further raised when Ronan, Shane, Stephen, Keith and Mikey changed into silky boxing shorts and ran on treadmills for their version of Billy Ocean's When the Going Gets Tough, but our favourite part of the show came during their encores when the guys (dressed in white suits) climbed on to a portable stage to be transported above the audience - stopping briefly near to our seats - to perform my absolute favourite, No Matter What. Richard Fleeshman will support Elton John on his summer arena tour. The 19-year-old, first rumoured to be John's opening act in March, will play four solo dates in the UK this month before joining John as the support act at Swansea's Liberty Stadium on June 29. Fleeshman called his opening slot "an amazing honour", adding: "Elton has always been an idol of mine but it is incredibly nerve-wracking as well. I'm going to ease myself into it by doing some warm up dates around the country before it. I cannot wait to go out there." John said: "When I heard Neon [Fleeshman's debut album], I couldn't believe how mature the record sounded and how developed and accomplished Richard's songwriting is at such a young age. I was delighted to offer Richard a slot on my summer stadium shows." Fresh from wowing blessed out fans at the Isle of Wight Festival, the most successful female act of the 21st century, Sugababes are turning their attention to Dagenham (yes, you read that right) and an appearance at the Charity Rock and Roll Concert in August. Backed by the Recorder, Sugababes Keisha Buchanan, Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah are headlining the two-day shindig that also features Status Quo, in Dagenham's Central Park, on Saturday, August 9. Shane will play Prince Charming in the popular family favourite. This year Southport Theatre has joined forces with new production company Pele Productions, who are set to combine all the elements of traditional pantomime with a mixture of high-energy song and dance routines, lavish sets and costumes, and all the usual pantomime fun and jokes, not forgetting the glittering finale. Shane will be joined by a full supporting cast, who are yet to be confirmed, to take you through the rags to riches tale of Cinderella, meeting along the way her friend Buttons, the Ugly Sisters, her horrible stepmother and of course the lovely Prince Charming. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie aren't leaving New Orleans after all. Trevor Neilson of the Jolie-Pitt Foundation is slamming an E! News report that claims they've sold their $3.5 million mansion in the French Quarter. "This rumor going around that they've sold or are selling their house in New Orleans is not true," he told the local paper The Times-Picayune. "It's just made up, as are a lot of things that are said about them." There is just about a week left of the Wentworth Miller charity project to raise funds for UNICEF. A source tells the National Enquirer: “Brad and Shiloh saved the day when twin sisters hired to take turns playing actress Cate Blanhett's character as a baby wouldn't settle down. “Everyone waited in vain while the babies were fed, changed and hugged - but nothing worked to calm them on the set in New Orleans. “The quickly-thinking Brad realized his daughter's happy and mellow disposition made her a quick fix for the role.” Hollywood heavy-hitters George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon have donated $500,000 to the Not On Our Watch organization to fund the aid efforts in Myanmar, Burma. In a bid to help victims of Tropical Cyclone Nargis in Southeast Asia, the pair joined forces with Asian political figures to run a massive advertising campaign in an Indonesian newspaper. The ad basically urges neighboring countries to allow foreign aid workers into the region. He is known for his captivating on-screen persona, but recently Brad Pitt, with his passion for environmentally-friendly architecture, has been named designer of a green hotel and resort in Dubai. Aside the L.A.-based architecture firm GRAFT and Zabeel Properties, the movie star will be part of a team of design consultants for the 800-room, five-star hotel. Getting his hands dirty on the design board is not new for Pitt. He has also built affordable, environmentally-friendly homes in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward and has been a powerful presence with his design efforts for Global Green USA in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. He must also pay a £15 surcharge which goes towards victims of crime. Former boyband singer Lee Ryan faces court today for allegedly punched a taxi driver in the head during a "road rage" incident in Surrey. The 25-year-old ex-Blue star is accused of hitting Naeem Ibrahim in the back of his cab at a set of traffic lights in Oxted last New Year's Eve. Ryan is due to stand trial at Guildford Magistrates' Court. Rumour has it that three more acts have signed up for Weston's massive beach party this summer. T4 On The Beach's official Facebook group says The Zutons, Black Kids and One Night Only will perform at the sell-out event on July 20. A short set from support act Van Tramp finished at 8.10pm and the girls didn't come on until 9.10pm, after allowing just enough time for the weather to close in. But Sugababes Keisha Buchanan, Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah proceeded to deliver a stunning performance. They kicked off with a couple of their six No.1s, Hole in the Head and Round Round, raced into Ugly and another chart topper Freak Like Me. There followed a stunning cover of En Vogue's Don't Let Go - a fearsome song to pull off live, but the trio's vocals were more than up to the job. The upbeat Denial was up next, followed by Change and their first ever single, Overload. The brilliant About You Now had the crowd jumping. Twelve songs??? 53 minutes??? £27.50. The Backstreet Boys have fleshed out the North American portion of their ongoing world tour, adding a full slate of summer dates behind their latest set, "Unbreakable." The teen-pop idols, who recently completed a brief run of shows in South Africa, kick off the American outing July 29 in St. Johns, Newfoundland. The first leg of the tour has the group hitting 25 cities through early September, including the beginnings of a West Coast leg. Details are below. "Unbreakable," the group's most recent album, hit stores last fall. The Boys enlisted an all-star roster of producing talent including Billy Mann (Sting, Celine Dion) and 'N Sync's JC Chasez to complete the album, which is the follow-up to 2005's "Never Gone." It's been a good week for Simple Plan. Fresh off their people's choice win at the MMVA's for favourite Canadian band, Simple Plan gave back to charities this week. Altogether, Montreal's pop-punkers donated $100,000 in funds and gifts to 15 local, national and international charities--and two schools--through their Simple Plan Foundation. The Simple Plan Foundation was launched during a show at Montreal's Bell Centre in 2005. Their goal? To help young people dealing with problems, illness, handicaps, and those affected by war. BELVOIR Castle's series of open air concerts, called Midsummer Magic, opens this weekend with chart-toppers Sugababes on Saturday and Welsh opera diva Katherine Jenkins on Sunday. The Sugababes have sold more than two million singles with five number ones, and five million albums putting them up there with the likes of The Spice Girls, All Saints, Destiny's Child, Bananarama and, going further back, The Supremes. McFly are reportedly postponing the release of their new album to finalise a deal with McDonald's. The All About You singers were due to put out Radio:Active at the end of June, but will now delay the album until mid-September after being approached by the fast-food chain, The Sun reports. Despite a line-up heavy on the scruffy indie types such as The Hoosiers, The Wombats, The Enemy and The Cribs, the trio’s Saturday afternoon slot was warmly received. They spurned conventional festival attire of jeans, T-shirts and wellies, and looked resoundingly glamorous. Amelle, Heidi and Keisha sported curve-enhancing little black dresses and trotted off a hit-packed set in the Big Top. Bully Alex De Gale is the most hated Big Brother housemate EVER. Bookies have got the cocky troublemaker at an astonishing 125-1 to win BB9 - easily the longest in BB history. Last night Ladbrokes said: “Alex is about as popular as the plague with punters.” The previous least popular housemate Narinder Kaur was 100-1 when she was evicted in BB2. Even BB7 sleazeball Sezer Yurtseven was only 50-1. Last year’s superbitch Charley Uchea had odds of 66-1. Ladbrokes’ Robin Hutchison said: “We thought Charley was bad but Alex has taken it to a different level.” Tonight Simple Plan made an appearance and performed at the Much Music Video Awards, where they were also fortunate enough to with the MMVA for People’s Choice for Favorite Group. The Backstreet Boys have had to postpone their trip to South Africa but Kelly Rowland is coming in their place. The former Destiny's Child star will be performing at Sun City's 'positive rocks' aids fundraiser. Sun International's Thoko Qoboza says they are pleased she agreed at such short notice. A host of big names including Dionne Warwick, Katherine Jenkins, Jason Donovan and Boy George are lined up for Preston Guild Hall's autumn season. Guild Hall management hope to add even more stars but the new programme – due out in weeks – already boasts more than 50 shows and attractions from September to December. The eXtra Factor, on for three nights in October, is a comedy musical about reality shows where the ultimate winner will be decided by the audience! Kevin Kennedy (Curly Watts of Coronation Street) teams up with Antony Costa (Blue, I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here), Kelle Bryan (Eternal), Anthony Kavanagh (chart topper and Grease is the Word), Russ Spencer (Scooch and the West End's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) Jennifer Biddall (Hollyoaks) and Suzanne Carley (Blood Brothers and Grease). It took almost five days but it seems real love is now definitely in the air in the Big Brother house. Toy demonstrator Mohamed Mohamed admitted having a 'little crush' on model Jennifer Clark (she's a real model, not a model toy...). The 23-year-old was put on the spot in the diary room and, although he tried to hide his feelings, intense probing by Big Brother soon got to the bottom of the matter. 'Is there anything you'd like to talk about?' BB asked. 'Erm, hmm. Not... sheesh, erm, no. It's all great,' spluttered Mohamed, before blurting out: 'When we were in the kitchen together, cleaning, I didn't know what to say. I just need to talk to her more'. And, without any further prompting, he revealed: 'When I like someone, I go all shy - especially if I have a little crush on her.' Big Brother favourite Kathreya is becoming big mother of the reality show, offering a shoulder to cry on to two lovelorn housemates. The 30-year-old, who is engaged, had heart-to-hearts with Dennis and Darnell about romance today, with the men lamenting about being single. Dennis said: 'I want to fall in love too. I want to meet someone and fall in love so much...But you can't make that happen, it just happens to you.' The American news media is carrying out a fresh round of soul-searching after the most respected showbusiness broadcaster was forced to retract the "scoop" of the year, when it wrongly reported the arrival of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's twins. A police investigation is under way into the identity of a hoaxer who apparently misled Entertainment Tonight into announcing, incorrectly, that Jolie had given birth. The story, which ran last Friday, was first followed up, then ridiculed around the world. To an industry reeling from widespread staff cutbacks, redundancies and the Jayson Blair scandal – in which The New York Times reporter was caught fabricating events and interviews – the affair is raising uncomfortable questions. Entertainment Tonight prides itself on setting a "gold standard" in the mercurial world of showbusiness reporting. For those of you that are excited by the news that High School Musical will return for a 4th movie, you better get used to a new class at East High. The current gang plans to move out and move on after they graduate in the upcoming High School Musical 3, set for an October release date in movie theaters nationwide. Star Zac Efron is looking forward to the latest movie tell People magazine, “It's our senior year, so we've got graduation and prom to look forward to. NERD, The Kooks, Enrique and One Republic will all rock Malta for our very own festival…The Isle of MTV line up is out with five massive acts set to headline the Malta festival on June 25th. The Kooks, Lady GaGa, OneRepublic, Enrique Iglesias and N.E.R.D are all playing the big gig. Angelina Jolie never wanted to have children of her own - but her love for partner Brad Pitt changed her mind. The 'Tomb Raider' star had no desire to have biological kids and was focused on adopting tots from around the world. Simple Plan will perform across the country this summer in support of their self-titled, platinum-certified third studio album that came out on Feb. 12. The tour, being presented in conjunction with MuchMusic, will also feature pop-punkers The All-American Rejects and Mission, B.C. Juno Award nominees Faber Drive. I’d just like to say that we are back online again after our ‘spring clean’ Sugababes earn a whopping £4million per year from performing short sets at private parties. The pop trio – Keisha, Heidi and Amelle – command up to £250,000 for each 40-minute gig they sign up for, according to their manager Mark Hargreaves. And it’s rarely about flying to a blistering climate to wow a palace full of minted sheiks – more often than not, the Sugababes are booked up to play marquees on back lawns and other such events at private UK residences. As part of the deal the girls are required to mingle with the guests once their live set has ended, although everything that’s discussed stays in the room. Zac Efron may have won an MTV Movie Award this week for his performance in Hairspray, but the beloved teen star was focused on his next role when interviewed by People. He’ll be taking on Troy Bolton again in High School Musical 3: Senior Year. “It felt like the first two movies all over again. We just kind of can’t go wrong with Kenny Ortega as our director and leader and our great cast and crew. She added that when she left the band in 1998, she and Victoria Beckham grew apart, but that being mothers has brought them back together and they have bonded over the children. Ms. Beckham, 34, will be emptying part of her closet for charity, auctioning off a number of outfits from her recent Spice Girls tour to try to raise over $2 million. The auction will benefit a children’s charity run by V’s mom, Jackie Adams. When Boyzone broke up eight years ago, there were reports that the Irish boy band's harmony had been overtaken by acrimony. It was Ronan Keating's idea that they should take a breather after years of touring, six No.1 hits and sales of 11 million records. He embarked on a solo career and didn't come back. Ever since then the band's legacy has primarily been one of feuds as the rest of the group floundered in limbo, uncertain whether they would ever reform. But now the boyz are back. They have settled their differences, and under the guidance of Louis Walsh, their manager, they have reunited for a 24-date, sell-out tour which reaches London's 02 Arena tonight and tomorrow. ‘It's as if we have never been apart,' says Ronan. Just when you think the Leona Lewis success express is slowing, she goes and gets herself another gold star beside her name. After conquering the US, the X Factor winner is now making her mark on video site YouTube with millions of hits. The promo for her hit single Bleeding Love has entered the site’s top ten most viewed videos of all time. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, she is also the only British artist to make it anywhere near the top ten. At the last count, more than 55million people had watched the video for Leona’s No1 single. She is currently in sixth place but is snapping at the heels of TIMBALAND featuring ONE REPUBLIC’s Apologise video, which has been eyeballed by 56million. X Factor’s Louis Walsh is teasing fans that he won’t be on the next series. Louis – on the judging panel with Simon Cowell, Dannii Minogue and Sharon Osbourne – claims he is yet to get his new contract. He told Radio 1: “I’m hoping to hear – but my phone hasn’t rung.” Is Simon too busy watching moonwalking dogs on Britain’s Got Talent to sort it out? Ronan Keating has confirmed that he asked Take That to support Boyzone on their reunion tour. About two months ago, we learned that Donny and Marie Osmond were being considered for their own daytime talk show. One of the Osmonds will indeed host a talk show in the somewhat near future. Earlier this week, Marie, who recently appeared on Dancing with the Stars, announced that she will host her very own syndicated daytime talk show set to premiere in the fall of 2009. This will not be Marie’s first time as a host. If you recall, from 1998 to 2000, she co-hosted Donny & Marie with her brother, Donny Osmond. For anyone who has ever fantasised about being the next Led Zeppelin but couldn’t be bothered putting in the effort, a new computer game could make your dreams come true. Rock Band, now on sale in the UK, is for up to four chums — one on vocals, two on guitar and one on drums. Players simply have to sing in time, or press or whack the correct combination of buttons in unison to win the game. It features tracks from bands including the Rolling Stones, The Strokes, Metallica, The Ramones and The Killers. We got the lads from McFly to see if it was anywhere near as good as being in a real band. And their verdict was a resounding thumbs up. The lads dived straight into Hysteria by Muse and were pretty soon hooked. Guitarist and singer Danny Jones said: “I love it, I can see myself getting addicted. It isn’t the same as playing an instrument but it could definitely teach people a thing or two about rhythm. It’s really clever the way it works. Kids these days have got the best games. Geri Halliwell has splashed out on an extravagant party for her daughter Bluebell’s second birthday party. In an interview with Hello! Magazine the party - which resembled Alice in Wonderland- featured a host of celebrities an amazing cake and white rabbits. The two year old daughter of Geri and Sacha Gervasi was dressed in a pretty pink dress to resemble a princess. IT looks like Posh is co-ordinating her clobber with the restaurants where she doesn’t eat. She went for lunch at top LA eaterie Pink Taco with her kids, including Cruz wearing a pair of bubblegum pink heels and carrying what girls tell me is a matching Hermes Birkin bag. Posh will guest star in TV hit Ugly Betty again – and the cast were delighted to have her back on set. Michael Urie, who plays camp assistant Marc St James, said: “She gave out Beckham cologne.
